Artist statement — Betsy Dovydenas

At first I was in outer space.

At first I was in outer space.

Then I was in the sky.

Daytime sky,

and nightime sky.

Still later I came down to earth.

I saw hills of lavender and green.

I saw pink and orange and blue.

I saw lovers and birds.

I saw owls.

I saw bear and deer and dogs.

I saw people in me and out of me.

I saw these things and I saw these places.

I am in these places and the places are in me.
